Best Meal Delivery Service

Going to get straight to the point here. CookUnity is hands down the best meal delivery service I have had so far. I'll be honest, I haven't had many, but I have researched quite a few and CookUnity tops them all in my opinion.

I have personally tried Fresh N Lean and Hello Fresh. Both are completely different meal delivery services. Fresh N Lean provides meals that are already prepared, so all you need to do is heat it up. Hello Fresh provides the ingredients and instructions, but you need to cook all of it. They are both decent, but the quality wasn't there for me with Fresh N Lean and I don't enjoy spending an hour cooking, so Hello Fresh is not a meal delivery service that fits me.

I researched quite a few more meal delivery services and compared pricing, amount of food, and number of meals you can get each week. Some of the ones I looked at are Sunbasket, Trifecta, and Factor. This is to just name a few. I won't go into much detail with them but in my opinion the meals were either too expensive for what little you get, or the quality of food just didn't seem to be there.

I'll quickly go over the key points about CookUnity and why I believe it is the best meal delivery service out there. If you are looking for a lot of fluff, sorry, that's not what I do here. I provide main points that's easy to read and digestible.

CookUnity Ordering

CookUnity has an app that you can download on your phone and order from. It's pretty simple to use and you can order a few weeks worth, so you don't have to worry about doing it each week. You can filter preferences, so if you are a vegan you can have the app only show vegan meals. If you prefer low carbs you can filter to that as well. There are many filters you can use to make the ordering process easier. You can even filter to certain chef's if you like one in particular.

I'll get to pricing soon, but I have my minimum ordering quantity set to 16 meals a week. My wife and I order on the same account, so that is why we set our minimum up to the highest one. You can add more meals than that if you want which is not the case with all meal delivery services, so if you want more than 16 meals for that week you can add more.

CookUnity Shipping

They deliver every Tuesday (at least, that is what my schedule is), and they provide tracking the day of so you know exactly when your meals are going to arrive. The meals show up in an insulated bag with a couple of ice packs. You give the bag and ice packs back upon the next delivery which is a big thing for me because I hated throwing away the ice packs each time when I received the Fresh N Lean meals. It was such a waste. CookUnity reuses the bags and ice packs which is smart both environmentally and economically.

The meals are packaged in a cardboard sleeve and recyclable containers, so the only thing you waste is the film on each meal. I also want to mention that each meal tells you how many calories it is, along with the macronutrient breakdown so you can keep track of everything.

CookUnity Food Quality

The meals are amazing! They are prepared by chefs, and there are numerous chefs that prepare the meals. They taste like gourmet meals. I do more plant based meals but I have had meals with chicken and fish. Sometimes you can tell if some of the food is low quality because something like chicken will taste like rubber. I have yet to eat a meal that taste low grade. I cannot express that enough.

CookUnity Pricing

I think the pricing for CookUnity is fair for what you get. Like I mentioned earlier, my plan is for 16 meals a week which comes out to about $11.00 per meal. There are over 150 meals to choose from each week, and some meals cost a little extra because of the type of meal but you obviously don't have to get it. You do have taxes and a $10 shipping fee on top of that. Each week we spend about $200 on meals and this includes the taxes and shipping.

You will save money in other areas like dishwasher which can make up for some of the cost. We use an air fryer for heating up our meals, so we save money there too since we no longer need to use an oven.

The less you order the more you pay per meal. Not a lot more, but it is more. You cancel at anytime, pause your subscription at any point, and change your meal plan at any point as well.

Overall Thoughts on CookUnity

I highly recommend this meal delivery service. Each meal is not 500 calories or less. The meals can range from 300 calories to over 1000 depending on what you get. Pricing stays the same unless you choose a meal that says it's X amount extra. I like having the wide variety of meals to choose from. With most other meal plans you only get a select few each week.

I only encountered one issue on my first delivery which was they missed putting a meal in my bag, so I ended up with 15 meals that week instead of 16. Customer service was great though, they immediately credited my account for next.

I like the fact that you can add more meals than what your meal plan is, so if you wanted 18 meals that week you can order 18 no problem.

To wrap this up, the quality of food is amazing, price is fair, ordering is easy, and packaging is great. If you want to try it out for yourself, click here. You and I will both receive $50 off your first delivery!
